Teaching Team
Our teachers are trained Early Childhood Educators who believe in the value and magic of a strong first school experience. As participants in NAEYC/WAEYC (National Association of the Education of Young Children), we attend annual trainings or bring trainers in to keep up-to-date on the latest research and information as well as developmentally appropriate curriculum. Our teachers are also trained in Positive Discipline for Preschoolers. As a staff, we believe in the value of growing as professionals and encourage our teachers to share new methods, research, and tools with each other to better inform our teaching.
Our teachers have the freedom and the range to offer lessons, projects and learning experiences that are tailored to each class and age group. We do not publish a weekly/monthly curriculum calendar as what we teach is usually driven by the interest level of a class and may change from a teacher's original intention. However, we will always let you know what we did each day, such as the songs we sang, art we created, and books we read, by sharing these highlights on each class's communication board. Each class has two teachers, but we still keep our class sizes intentionally small so that teachers can get to know each child well and adjust lessons to the children's needs and interests. |
